How High?

There's a lot of skin being displayed on stage this month. If it's oiled-up bare torsos, Chippendale-style that you're looking for, then the seven flamenco-dancing Vivancos brothers are coming to town next week. If you want to see some ripped bare chests performing some awe-inducing martial arts, then this show should float your boat.
In town after its third sell-out season in London, the Korean Ye Gam Theatre delivers just what it promises with its spectacle Jump: an adrenaline-packed display of Tae-kwon-do, jaw-dropping flips, dazzling acrobatics and sword fights.
Made up of martial arts experts, the show essentially boils down to a string of breathtaking scenes of high-flying acrobatics and fascinating karate tricks that wouldn't be out of place in The Matrix or a Hong Kong action flick. Neither would the acting - corny and one-dimensional, with attempts at humour being of the cartoon-ish fall-on-your-ass kind. It can test your patience and good will at times and a few headed for the door. All's forgiven, however, once you see the grandpa doing his age and gravity defying tricks.
Highbrow art it's not, but what a feast for the eyes, especially for the young ones.
Jump - May 20-June 22
Teatro Victoria, Parallel 67 - 93 329 91 89
