Happy Days

The Gay Circus (can someone say tautology? Is sugar sweet? Is Katie Holmes a beard?) may have come to town, but I'm heading out. It's no fun being gay in this city.
Take the gay EuroGames. Tell me, what exactly is the entertainment value here, with neither handbag-throwing, baby-oil wrestling, or single-man three-legged racing on the programme. If I wanted to see real athletic action, I'd tune into male gymnastics, platform diving or perhaps endure 90 minutes of boredom to watch the footballers swap shirts.
No, I'll be heading out to Sant Cebrià de Vallalta by Sant Pol where, far from being the only gays in the village, Oscar and Jordi (who used to have his hands in the dough at La Veronica), are opening up a Cuban chiringuito-themed Deep Chill & Club. Decorated by recdi8, it's a new place to get, ahem, friendly with the neighbours.
It's high time too for a gay hangout there, as Sant Pol has long ago replaced Sitges as favoured out-of-town destination for sun-worshippers in search of clear water and prime beef. Now, there's a real gay circus for you.
Deep, Chill & Club - opening 20h Saturday July 26
Av. Maresme 15, Sant Cebrià de Vallalta - 675 255 641
Gay Circus - July 25-28
EuroGames - July 24-27
