Sitting in a Scarf

Proud and imperial. Antonio Miró brings us his new Interiors line of some twenty tables, chairs, bed, mirrors and shelves of American walnut and rosewood.
The highlight of the launch was possibly the setting within the ancient walls of the former Moritz brewery. The space in the midst of a revamp, cracked and with the wiring in sight, contrasted symbolically with the elegance and fine irony of the pieces, crafted by Muebles Ébano.
The irony stems from the names of the pieces: "Scarf", a chair finished with knots; "Zebra", the closets that recall the animal’s stripes; or the Oscar Wilde references with the "Dorian" mirrors.
To take some of these pieces home may require a sense of humour, too, when presented with the price tags.
