For the Love of Pots and Glasses

Banks may be failing abroad because of panicked consumers withdrawing all their hard-earned savings, but “the Spanish banks are safe,” my friend explained, “because everybody wants their pots and sets of cava glasses.”
Not one to argue, I’ll happily put my faith in a crash being avoided because nobody wants to lose that indispensable set of pans, sandwich maker or crystal decanter by taking out their savings early. And of course I’ll do my bit to salvage the economy by going shopping.
And so many new options there are! Esprit opened its first Spanish flagship store on Passeig de Gracia just a fortnight ago, and this week saw Mango open its first mens’ only store, dedicated to the 'HE by Mango' line launched earlier this year.
Not to be outdone, Basque casualwear brand Loreak Mendian officially launches its new superstore tonight in what’s really become Barcelona’s streetwear alley, Duc de la Victoria. Now you do your part, too. Go. Spend.
Loreak Mendian , Duc de la Victoria 9, Gotico – 93 342 4370
Esprit, Passeig de Gracia 30 – 93 589 7590
HE by Mango, Diagonal 586 – 93 209 0257
