Weekend Anxiety

The tasks at hand for Friday afternoons at work are so much more complicated when skint. OK, checking your Facebook may take the same amount of effort, but planning how to spend your weekend on a zero budget is labourious.
Going out was once limited solely by logistical factors of traveling from A to B, where to get tickets, and who from your group to discard to squeeze past the velvet rope. Now it seems to be a sad affair of chasing free passes and dreading how much a drink at the bar will set you back.
So when somebody offers up the chance to check out the vibe at Hôtel Costes, London’s Sketch, and Apt in New York, all in one weekend, for free, then how can we not pay attention. No queues, no bouncers. The drinks? A wallet-friendly Bring Your Own. Prefer live music? Try Bloc Party, MGMT and Damien Rice. Again, for free.
Welcome to Awdio and Fabchannel, the streaming services that bring some of the planet’s hottest bars, clubs and independent gigs right into your home.
Two-thousand-nein might be all about the budget. But log-in, dress the part, shake up some cocktails, and crank up the volume and party like it’s 2008. Paris Social Club or Secret Sundaze? Try both, and not a velvet rope in site.
