Wheels of Fashion

Small cars have served as fashion statements ever since Peugeot's iconic 205 Lacoste edition in the 1980s. Now fashionistas with a penchant for small backseats have yet another alternative.
The past 12 months have already seen the introductions of the 10,000 limited edition Fiat 500 Powered by DIESEL and the Smart édition Toile H designed in collaboration with Hermès, and yesterday Lancia unveiled its Ypsilon Armand Basi at Montjuïc.
Editions don't come much more limited than this – only 100 will be produced – and if that wasn't enough to get you interested, then this one has been drawn by Basi design director Markus Lupfer, the man responsible for the label's return as a force to be reckoned with in womenswear.
The result is a white with a logo discretely slapped on at the back, but it's the interior that really stands out with its leather surfaces and small designer details.
Prefer bronze? Then Lancia has another 500 limited edition model, the Ypsilon Versus resulting from a Versace collaboration, expected this March.
