Bring It On

El Bulli may have closed their catering business, but it's hardly like we're in mourning. Frankly, we were getting a bit fed up forking out the 190 euros per head whenever we had people over. Just don't think that it'll get us cooking.
That's partly thanks to the arrival of the Girona-based Bonàpat in Eixample. From their new digs, they deliver ready-made plates at reasonable prices (including a ten-euro set menu), fresh produce and even frozen dishes, as well as a selection of gourmet products and drinks.
What we particularly like is the beverage list. The mark-up is modest, and the choice is excellent: ranging from hard-to-find beer - like the Estrella Inedit - to an impressive water selection. A bottle of 80 euro Swarovski-studded Bling H2O? No probs. It's supposed to do wonders for fine cuisine, so who knows what it can do for your five-euro meatballs.
They've even managed to source water from the "high mountains of Denmark". And that, my friends, is no mean feat. Especially when you consider that the highest point in Denmark is just 173m above sea level. For all his magic, even Ferran Adrià never managed that.
