It's Wack

Monday might've been the official Groundhog Day, but stopping by the World Trade Center for Danzatoria's opening on Friday had me feeling like Bill Murray three days early: Yet another try at making a club work in this familiar venue, yet another try at making this familiar name work in another venue.
So although spending this Friday night down on my knees scrubbing with a broom doesn't sound like my usual idea of fun (at least the scrubbing and broom part), then I'm all game, if only for the novelty of it all. And not in small part because it involves perhaps the quaintest of the Olympic winter sports.
I'm talking about the upcoming Curling party at Be & Artist, combining DJs, drinks and, yes, the passing of stones on ice. "Does that really count as a sport?", I can almost hear you thinking out loud. Well, to be fair, it's kinda like petanque on ice, and that's considered a sport. Even if only played by old men. In France.
You might not get hooked but, with everybody bent over scrubbing, I'll promise you one thing: You'll see more crack than Whitney, and that doesn't happen every day.
