Disturb, Bitte

For all the high-end design and modern comforts, the sexual tension is evident from the moment you enter the lobby. Provided along with your room are an array of signs to hang off your door knob, including "Disturb, please." Everyone’s game here, except for the staff. Shame.
"Hetero-friendly", Axel Hotels have been turning convention on its head since the two Catalan Julià brothers opened the first in Barcelona back in 2004. Setting out to provide a quality alternative for gay travelers, they’ve since won accolades and awards and followed up the original with hotels in San Telmo, Buenos Aires and now also in Berlin.
It’s set in the gay hub of Schöneberg and, with 86 rooms, is the largest of the three. Like the two predecessors, it features the signature Kitchen restaurant and rooftop Sky Bar. The additional space has allowed for an in-house spa, extended business and meeting facilities, as well as the Urban Bar, which is hoped to bring in the locals, too.
