Body Beautiful

So, Dove is once again looking for chubby chicks for a commercial. Oh sorry. Zaftig? Generously proportioned? Ugh, no, REAL women. Which explains the re-occurrence of ads with models who don't seem to say no to seconds.

It's about self-esteem, they say. That beauty is more than being tall, blond and busty. Use their creams and, although it'll make you no Giselle, you'll soon be brimming self-confidently like these gals. Without evaluating the qualities of their ointments, they're missing the point.

For real lessons in self-esteem, they'd do better by looking to the Bearcelona 2009 festivities that start today. Celebrating real men (and a plus-sized hair and leather fetish), today's Adonis male beauty ideals are soundly rejected, and it culminates in Saturday's official "All You Can Eat" dinner.

No talk about cellulites reducers or moisturizers here. Just content real men and their proud admirers. But oh yeah, that real women casting. Just send in two photos - landscape if needed - and you're in the running.
