No Circus - Impressions from The Brandery

If you don’t know its predecessor, then The Brandery, the new brand showcase and trade fair, might leave you impressed – pretty, slick to the point of outdoing B&B and, for being Spain, reasonably well organised. Knowing it, though, it feels just a bit too similar, but smaller and less relevant.

To be fair, this was the first day of the first edition - put together in a race against the clock in the space of three months, in the midst of an economic downturn and financial crisis – and there are enough positive things (the work of set designer Jay Arcos one of those) to build on for a stronger sequel.

Key to this, however, is that the organizers can build a better case for the event’s raison d’etre (honestly, do we really need another fashion trade fair?) than merely filling an empty slot in La Fira’s calendar.
