Hot Chip "One Pure Thought"
Hot Chip's ode to acid is, possibly, in the natural and supernatural order of things, one of the songs of the year. Built around a simple descending - but crucially pure - natural fifth [chord] sequence, found more in sacred than in modern electronic music, recall the slightly negative character of chemical prophecy.
Evidence, if any is needed, that Hot Chip are the Gregorian Monks of modernity, instead of handwritten liturgy they have vintage Prophecy Synths and excellent collections of leisure footwear. Remixes by Supermayer and Dominik Eulberg leave us in rapture and awe.
