Life
Is Good |
 |
 |
 |
Quality
of life is one of those devilishly difficult
things to quantify - how, for example,
does a cold drink on a hot day measure up against
a really good dump? That being said, Mercer
has calculated that we're a measly #42
in this
year's city ranking, currently topped
by Vienna. |
 |
Now,
in lifestyle matters, I'd usually place more
trust in Tyler Brûlé than a Mercer
number cruncher, but even in Monocle's
ranking, we're demoted to #15 and taken
over by the likes of Copenhagen, Munich and
Zurich. Quality apparently now means dull and
civilised.
That said, we're guaranteed a rise in next
year's rankings with the new Danone-branded
restaurant at Francesc Macia; a world first,
but no chicos Danone, just lots of
Actimel. But for something slightly more tasty
than over-fermented yogurt, why not heed C'Chic's
new summer proposition.

Launching this week with Silvia Prada,
the two-part summer sessions - an
outdoor aperitivo part from 20-24th with
free buffet and happy hour, followed by
a four hour clubbing session - will
take place at Mondo every Sunday until
the end of September. Yours truly will
be hosting the last every month. The Viennese
better savour their Sachertorte.
C'Chic @ Mondo, Port
Vell - Sundays 20h-04h
Urban Junkies night last Sunday every
month
