Breaking
news everybody: Michael Jackson is still dead!
The media may finally have moved on -
this week any mentions of moonwalking were about
Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin - but Jacko
remains lifeless. |
 |
So,
no longer distracted by the sticky, sweet-talking
Queen of Pop, let's turn our attention back
to the King, and pay homage one last time. Mindless
and too late, you might retort, but hey, the
dude's without a brain and remains unburied,
so that would only make this Sunday's Moonwalking
tribute even more appropriate.
Starting from the Columbus statue, the organizers,
Poko
Frecuente and Complot
, hope to get hundreds to moonwalk up Las Ramblas.
They encourage the wearing of white gloves,
and also recommend props like epaulettes, gangster
hats and cropped trousers. Monkeys, crotch-grabbing
and underage boys optional.

 |
If
successful, it'll will not only be one
last goodbye but also a record-setting
for the biggest group to walk the entire
length of Las Ramblas without getting
harassed by prostitutes or have their
wallets stolen. The previous record is
allegedly held by the Garcias, a family
of three from Girona. Smooth Criminals.
