Wed 13 August, 2014 UJ Ibiza: August 2014 It's August! Oh no! The good news is, there's still another month and a half left of Ibiza. The bad news is, we're already half way through the season. Which means… time to get on it. By all accounts, things on the White Isle seem to be in overdrive this summer. From guestlist queues down the dirt road for Idris and Friends at the Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes to overflowing sunset crowds at Café Mambo (did you see Fatboy Slim's epic set?), people are going for it this summer. And it doesn't stop there. In the ongoing battle of club nights, we've seen a serious increase in high-octane production. More than a glove in a box (Guy), or muscle men in front of letters (Matinee), this is a showdown between the now divided ex-Manumission family. There's bathroom karaoke and other typically quirky Pikes antics from Ibiza Rocks House @ Pacha, and shows 'n sex appeal from Phantasmagoria at Booom. It's amazing what competition sibling rivalry will spark! El Row and Kehakuma's night at Space is contributing to the OTT production factor, too. Then there's the location alerts. On the one hand: San An. We just can't seem to escape it! From Alan and Christian Anadon's never-ending roster of talent at Mambo to Sankey's strong summer and 20th anniversary, San An is making noise. And then there's the port. Adding to the ever-increasing bling factor (Lio, Cipriani, Blue Marlin) is the new Cavalli Restaurant & Lounge. Bling on this side of the island, bohemia on the other: we like the clear division. There were the usual suspects- La Moss, Naomi, Paris, Kardashians 'n Kanye, ADR- but then there were some new White Isle surprises like the Brant Bros, too. We do love a black ball.
