Shop Spy: Rough Sleepers

Eco-friendly, organic, fair trade: in fashion terms "green" is like the Britney Spears' love life, overexposed. Enter Rough Sleepers, Novas Group's new, high fashion boutique that donates all profits to help the homeless and gives us fashion followers a novel way to indulge in shopping therapy whilst garnering a do-good, holier than Top Shop glow.

You Should Know: Although just a few paces away from Camden Market, there are no are no incense sticks or skull print scarves to be found. Instead a calm, white washed, gallery-like interior, designed by Historical Royal Palace’s First Artist-in-Residence, Sonoko Obuchi, displays one-off Robert Carey Williams frocks on industrial scaffolding.

Head Here for: Up-market, casual wear from small but prestigious international designers.

UJ loves: The limited exclusivity of the wares ensures that, for the same prices as Top Shop Boutique, we are able to distinguish ourselves from the street style herd.
For her: Anything by French designer Sylvia Rielle
For him: Vinti Andrews’s soft, non-neon slogan tees £55

Insider Tip: Exclusively designed Zest for Rough Sleeper jeans are a dream and a deal at £90 a pop, but created on a slightly diminutive size scale. Usually a size 28? Avoid the self loathing and ask the friendly shop assistants for a 30.

We Say: Having just opened in February, Rough Sleepers' inventory is limited, but the quality and rarity of the available pieces more than make up. Fall/Winter promises an influx of new brands, greater variety and an increase merchandise volume. With Kim Jones rumored to be designing out of the shop's back workroom, UJ recommends keeping this avant-garde venture on your style radar.
