Dance Music Resurgence
Felix

It's been a good year for dance music. Its neon-wearing, phoenix-like resurgence continues with three new cracking albums...

Felix Da Housecat - 'Virgo Blaktro & The Movie Disco'
You can't help but love the Housecat. He lives and dreams in a hyper-nostalgic nightime '80s world soundtracked by the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Yello. Each of his albums have been a minor cult classic and this one follows that strobe-lit road. Spectacularly realised retro-now dance music that is as groovy as Felix's fashion spex.

Underworld - 'Oblivion With Bells'
Underworld are back with a fine up-tempo long-player. It's riddled with superbly made swishy techno that cries out to be played live. A well-orchestrated come-back indeed.

Elektrons - 'Red Light Don't Stop'
In between throwing some of the best parties in the land, Manchester's Unabombers have often turned their hand to making their own brand of electric soul music. Their new album is engaging, bouncy and fun. An excellent distillation of the black music they love, given an '07 twist. Party music for party people.
