| NYC-style boozy brunches are big business |

Anyone who ever stepped foot in New York’s old Bagatelle on a Saturday afternoon will know what ‘brunch’ really means.
|
|
|
You know, the other brunch. Party brunch. Drunk brunch. Fun brunch. Champagne, DJs and dancing-on-the-table brunch.
So while we wait for Bagatelle’s NYC relocation to complete any month now, the daytime-party movement is at full-swing on this side of the pond. Move over power lunch, this is all about the power brunch…
Saturday mornings in Blighty have traditionally been a comfortable trickle of Eggs Benedict and simpering, "Ooh, go on then: maybe just one glass…"
Oh, how things change.
The themed, invitation-only Bacanal brunches may have never totally had us (their last party was at The Box… Matinee nipple tassels and jeroboams anyone?). But the heavy-hitters at Love Brunch seem to be killing it. Their recent daytime do at The Sanderson bordered on the Miami-esque, earning several fans here at UJHQ. And with Paris, New York and Ibiza all on their calendar for the coming months, the brunch business seems to be booming.
Even the tongue-in-cheek Bunga Bunga brigade are riding the daytime-messy wave, kicking things off this Saturday with bottomless bellinis and antipasti, unlimited prosecco and, erm, well, karaoke.
But if you’d rather host your own, then let the kind people at Belvedere help out with 10 bottles of their brand new Bloody Mary vodka to get the party brunch ball rolling…
