FRIDAY

EAT:
Beard To Tail
  PARTY:
Heartbeat at Paradise

If you missed out on the June pop up, no fear, Beard To Tail have set up permanent shop. Their restaurant and deli will serve wholesome breakfasts, brunch and lunch – think chorizo, baked eggs and manchego, and their take on the Reuben sandwich – as well as a carnivorous dinner menu. Try pig's cheek with ginger and dill pickle, the signature Rumpie Pumpie pork rump or pulled beef feather blade. As far as the whiskey-based cocktail list goes – it's all about the cherry cola.   Make your way West to party tonight. Paradise will hold the first in a series of monthly disco nights – Heartbeat (quote UJ on the door and get in for free!). Get down to a mixture of nu-disco tunes and way-back-when classics from the likes of Bruce Wayne and Mighty Mouse (get in the mood here with MM’s exclusive disco mix). Afterwards, head to What Happens Next? at Supperclub (from the guys behind Love Brunch) for some late night Dusty Kid.

PHOTOGRAPHY:
The Not Photography Show
  PARTY:
Superfreq vs Get The Curse

Exactly what is says on the tin: a photography exhibition without the photography. Well, in the traditional sense at least. Instead of following the conventions of the medium, artists use the various materials of photography – including polaroid, found negatives, digital and darkroom techniques – in innovative ways, creating conceptually and aesthetically unique works. It's also the perfect way to check out The Arts Club if you don't want to shell out on membership – just book in advance.   Discerning electronic music lovers unite: it's time for another 30th floor Superfreq party at Paramount. This time Clement Meyer and Tomas More from Parisian collective Get The Curse (of Paris' Social Club) will be playing alongside Superfreq residents. They've been busy boys: Mr C has just organised Superfreq residencies in LA, Miami and Playa Del Carmen and Luke vB (along with LA partner David Scuba) will relaunch Superfreq records this Autumn. Look out for his new solo EP "I'm gonna give you some".

SUNDAY

FILM:
Holy Motors
  PLAY:
Bounce

Strange isn't the word. For a bit of lunacy on a Sunday, check out Leos Carax's latest surrealist odyssey: Holy Motors. Denis Lavant plays Monsieur Oscar who, over the course of a single day, takes on 10 other guises, ranging from a gangster and ageing millionaire to a troubled parent and anarchic tramp – all from the back of his white stretch limo. Kylie and Eva Mendes make an appearance, oh and the car talks. Of course it does.   Carry on the bizarre Sunday fun with a trip to Bounce, the latest venue to embrace ping pong mania. From the co-founder of All Star Lanes, this is 12,500 square foot of bouncing ball madness – think table tennis, cocktails, high-end dining and eclectic beats (plus pizza strips, small plates and even a private room complete with karaoke). The GB Olympic team checked it out before opening so this is the place to go if you're secretly harbouring Rio dreams.

GALLERY OPENING

Pace London

From New York via Beijing, Pace is expanding its art empire. Taking over the west wing of the Royal academy, it opens this week with "Rothko/Sugimoto: Dark Paintings and Seascapes" – an exhibition juxtaposing Mark Rothko's late black and grey paintings with Hiroshi Sugimoto's contemporary photographs of the horizon line where sea meets sky. The next opening will be beneath the High Line on Chelsea's 25th Street – NY here we come (any excuse).

Pace Gallery, opens today
6 Burlington Gardens, Mayfair, W1S 3ET

It's that time of year again. Ibiza closings!
