Plus, we’ve rounded up all the latest restaurants with limited 50% off offers. On the party side of things, Number 90 in Hackney is having a four-day bender and the Berlin brigade Yo! EAT:PARTY:
Santo RemedioNumber 90 Birthday Weekender

Forget your run-of-the-mill tacos and burritos and instead dine on pig’s ears and cactus tacos, hibiscus flower quesadillas and cactus slaw at Shoreditch’s latest Mexican opening. The colourful restaurant aims to showcase ‘real’ Mexican cooking, “food from the home, food of the people, food of celebrations and regional Mexican street food”, they say. Taco Bell this is not. Don the party hats for Number 90’s birthday bender. Marking its 2nd year, the canal-side bar in Hackney Wick will be ripe with DJs (such as Groove Armada’s Tim Findlay), bands, performers, live art installations, food stalls … and a ‘dry’ ice cream van. As for us, we’ll be tackling the giant birthday piñata.

DRINK:PARTY:
Orange wine at Typing RoomYo! Sissy

Like we said, the natural wine movement is in full swing. So for those looking to swap your spring/summer rosé for a low-intervention amber vino instead, do so over a boozy lunch at the Typing Room. Sommelier Fred Marti has his finger on the pulse, with one of the best orange lists in the capital. Otherwise, The Remedy in Fitzrovia comes up trumps, too. Berlin brigade Yo! Sissy has made its way to London. The music festival, which transforms clubs all over Berlin in July into LGBT wonderlands, will be glitter bombing The Glory for a one-night only special edition with world-class drag performances, cabaret, DJs and live music.

Shop:EAT:
DSM HaymarketRoast chicken at the Connaught

Elbows at the ready: DSM Haymarket has officially opened its doors. The new, huge store on Piccadilly will still stock the usual suspects, such as Azzedine Alaïa, Raf Simons and, of course, Comme des Garçons, while new, big brand additions include Gucci and Saint Laurent — to name a couple. Plus, we hear there’ll be a special project by Vêtements. Fingers crossed this means a chance to nab a pair of those sold-out cult jeans. Do your Sunday roast the Hélène Darroze way. The Michelin-starred chef has just launched her new roast chicken menu ‘Le Poulet du Dimanche’. It starts with a confit egg yolk emulsion served in a golden egg, followed by a chicken consommé and chicken liver royale. Then, it’s time for the ultimate roast chicken, stuffed with herbs and wild garlic served with black truffle gravy. For dessert, choose from three egg dishes – crème caramel, a floating island perfumed with passion fruit and lemongrass or olive oil madeleines. Decisions, decisions.
