Guerrillas in Our Midst

New products come and go so fast that it's easy to miss them - one blink and they're gone.

So we're thankful when retailers are mindful of our attention span (or lack of) and manage to distract us in an instant.

Take the recent Comme des Garçons guerrilla stores that have been popping up, for two weeks only, everywhere from Reykjavik, Singapore and Athens to Berlin. Housed in rugged and raw disused spaces, these temporary retail stores won't wait for you until pay day. You have to go there now, literally, or they'll be gone.

However, if you're looking for a little guerrilla activity closer to home, never fear, Katie Grand, Editor-in-Chief of POP magazine, is about to unleash her assault on Selfridges.

Next week the magazine launches its temporary micro-boutique that sells limited edition pieces made by all of Katie's favourite cronies - Miuccia Prada, Giles Deacon, Luella Bartley and Vivienne Westwood to name just a few.

The merchandise has been hand-selected and re-designed by Katie in limited edition colours and styles - think fluoro pink glitter Miu Miu sandals. We expect it will sell out almost immediately so get down there quick to shop until you POP.
