London, a great city.

We've got decent landmarks and superb pubs, but really, the best thing about our fair city is that women here, on average, don't diet.

Sure, the girls in the office might make a half-hearted attempt in January, but by mid-month they're all back on the afternoon chocolate run and pints. Amen.

So why not celebrate the result of all those ice cream and biscuit binges in style? Plus-size model Charlotte Coyle is doing just that with her Beauty Reborn event, held Sunday March 5th at Café de Paris.

Coyle has gathered together a dozen beautiful women, blessed with more curves than angles, for a new kind of beauty contest.

Backed by some greats such as Daniel Galvin, Benefit Cosmetics as well as designers Anna Sholz and Elena Miro, the contest promises to challenge our antiquated notions of beauty.

That's why we're going.

Not, clearly, because we're expecting some really good canapés.

Beauty Reborn - 5pm Sunday March 5
at Café de Paris, 3-4 Coventry St, W1 - £10 tix online.
