Urban Gem: The Lounge

My favourite burrito place in Soho is gone. RIP Beach Burrito.

But, I instantly cheered up when, around the block, I stumbled upon the bubblegum-tastic Lounge. Compact, but all encompassing, this salon's not new - you can tell it by the comfortable banter with the regulars - but is seemingly always changing.

Hate staring at your depressingly illuminated wet mop in the salon? At Lounge, you can pick up a menu instead. It works with Flavour around the corner to provide you with reasonable, good snacks while you're having a treatment done. Maybe not be top priority when you're having a rim, but vital if you are scheduled in for three hours of foils.

Other highlights include the music selection (Joe, the owner dabbles with DJing), the products (including the all-organic MOP), the people around (more friendly than fash), and the vintage Time Out covers plastered on the ceiling (so chic).

Even better are the floor to ceiling windows. Perfect for people watching.
