T5 2 days to go - EAT & DRINK

Soggy sandwiches, luke warm coffee, and an excess of vending machine merchandise. It ends up all over your in-flight meal at the slightest tremor of turbulence and becomes worryingly difficult to distinguish from the chicken option. Yep, the gourmet side of the travel industry certainly lacks some finesse.

In case you haven’t caught on to the deal here, Heathrow T5 is doing everything bigger and better, and food’s no exception. With Gordon Ramsey’s Michelin-starred cuisine on board at Plane Food (haha) for a start, and old favourite Maccy D’s and Burger King banned like ASBO holding reprobates, it’s not looking too shabby.

Should you need some sedation before flying, the 5 Tuns Bar has a bloody mary specialist with seven spins on the old favourite on offer. Harrods are selling store cupboard favourites for elderly relatives back home to gush over, and Krispy Kreme have even created a commemorative donut. At UJ we’ll be sticking to Itsu’s carry out meals created to take on board.

  • AGUAS IBIZA: Closing Parties

With this weekend being the last of the closing parties in Ibiza, it's time to hop a flight and get down on la isla for one last time this year. And as the nights are guaranteed to be pretty hectic, we suggest a stay in Agua's tranquil bliss. Here’s what Emma made of the place:

  • Nice Package

I have two words for you: ‘package’ and ‘holiday’. Now roll those bad boys around your mouth for a minute, and tell me how they make you feel. A touch queasy perhaps? A little dirty and used (and not in a ‘hot damn that’s what I call a date’ kind of way)?

  • Boujis Ibiza, Monday August 25th

Boujis and Calla Longa – it’s a match made in heaven. And this bank holiday Monday, the two are coming together for a fabulous Ibizian fiesta.

  • Hotel Aguas De Ibiza

And if you’re looking for a last minute place to say, check out the new Aguas hotel in Santa Eulalia.

  • Cowes Week Red Cap Party

With more than 8000 entrants in 1000 vessels, Cowes Week ranks pretty highly in the annual nautical diary, & the Mount Gay Red Cap Party is the place to drink post-sailing.
