Silence Please

Amy Winehouse and mobile phones: ubiquitous and impossible to escape, what with last week's release of Rehab-Girl's first 'official' biog, and the growing prevalence of always-on Crackberries.
These days you may actually have to go to rehab to get a break, now that some airlines, spas, and soon even sections of the tube allow self important morons to chatter away endlessly. If you still crave silence, but you're not up to La Winehouse's level on the old booze and Persian rugs front, you could try a ten day meditiation course - undertaken in complete silence.
Vipassana Meditation teaches us to not overreact to life's ups and downs, to radiate harmony, and to bring joy to ourselves and those around us. It's open to those of any religion and of no religion since, as S.N. Goenka, the teacher of the technique explains in a short film on the website, this technique is all about the good bits of major religions (being nice to one another and all that), and less about the 'I'm right, you're wrong, and I'm going to kill you' aspect that some can propagate.
Sounds good to me. Do you think they allow texting on this course?
