Prêt à Porter at the Pictures

The most anticipated moment of Summer 2008 is upon us - there could be death, there may be marriage, but damnit, there will be fashion.

The Sex & The City movie has garnered countless column inches about designer outfits, travel agencies are arranging set tours , and Jimmy Choo stores are even hosting SATC-themed previews of their pre Autumn/Winter collection this weekend, complete with cosmos and the Atlas style that Carrie so favoured.

So fashion and film seem to be having a bit of a moment. And if you like your style with a bit of bite, you may prefer Glassloves’ fashion dinner parties series , featuring Zandra Rhodes making Bread & Butter pudding while guests including Marios Schwab wax lyrical about the industry. Or else, this year’s Fashion in Film festival is entitled If Looks Could Kill, as it gets gritty with fashion and crime in the movies.

Maybe they should start with Samantha’s ‘80s power suit monstrosities – even SATC gets it wrong sometimes.
