Scarf Face

The foulard, the neckerchief - alright, dammit, the bloody scarf - has wound its way into our summer accessories drawer like a family of dormice looking for a cosy home.

Manly dormice, mind. A brilliant way to add some interest to an otherwise everyday jeans and T-shirt combo - the summer scarf is this season's man-accessory du jour. The key thing is weight. Go for styles in flimsy silky rayon or fine cotton - anything heavier and you'll look like an old man suffering from hypothermia. And be cautious about colour too. Anything too bright will fast-track you to the Matthew Williamson school of accessorizing. And with its Bollywood meets Ibiza aesthetic, that's more than enough colour for all of us.
