Slum Lords

They’re hardly the height of glamour, and the merest mention of M&S, John Lewis and Debenhams sends shivers down your spine, but where else (and this is why your mum loved them) can you do anywhere near as much one-stop–shopping?
Sure, you can scour for antiques in one vintage-themed shop, for books in another vintage-themed shop, and vintage clothing in, strangely, yet another vintage-themed shop. But can you do all of them at once in a truly gorgeous, well, vintage-themed shop?
Now you can, at A Child of The Jago. Named after a 19th century novel about East End slums, the store and its inhabitants come across like a contemporary version of SEX and World's End. Unsurprising then that it was created by Agent Provocateur’s (and son of Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren) Joe Corre and stylist Barnzley.
More than just gorgeous, Westwoodian, exposed-beam interiors and an entire wall of artwork, Jago sells books, antiques and clothes (including the pair's fabulous Terrorist line, inspired by historical no-gooders), as well as some seriously cool artifacts in the basement and records from McLaren’s private collection (can you imagine?).
It may not do a nice 5-piece matching crockery set, but hey, when was the last time a kitchen utensil started a revolution?
