Bloom-in' Marvellous

There is an almost new boutique festival, found blooming in the beautiful Cotswolds, that is certainly worth venturing out of the capital for. Now in its third year, Bloom Festival turns its nose up at the usual array of predictable festival acts in favour of the cutting-edge.

Taking place just outside of Cheltenham on August 8-10th, the music covers all forms of folk, electro, house, rock, jazz, funk, breaks and reggae. The vast spread of acts includes Ewan Pearson, Hot 8 Brass Band, Kissy Sell Out, The Bays, The Presets, Scratch Perverts, Freeform Five, Tunng, Max Sedgley, Barry Adamson, Roisin Murphy, Ame, The Black Seeds and The Unabombers.

Attracting around 8,000 revellers, the festival is certainly on the smaller, boutique side, as is its adventurous music programming. With theatre, film, comedy and reassuringly acceptable on-site facilities, this could be the perfect weekend away for the musically inquisitive.
