Adam Beaumont-Brown’s Dos and Donts for Mens Swim Shorts
Swimsuit shopping. Not the most inspiring pastime. But if you know what things will help instead of hinder your shape, it could go down a lot better. Below are Adam Beaumont-Brown’s (of cult menswear swimshorts label Orlebar Brown) top tips for men’s swimwear.
Don’t assume that a baggy pair of swim shorts with an elasticated waist will cover a multitude of sins. A well-cut pair of shorts is like a good suit – it makes you look better.
Very tall men should try a mid-length short. A longer short just accentuates one's height whilst a short short can look ridiculous.
Medium height men are lucky in that you have the flexibility that all lengths can look good.
If you are shorter, be brave. A shorter short is definitely the way forward and beware: long and baggy will just swamp you.
And if you are a bigger size, please steer clear of prints: they really don’t distract from the fact that you are carrying more weight. Flat, dark colours are definitely the most flattering.
