Newspapers are downsizing, reality TV rules and Grazia is ubiquitous. In short, intellectuals are waxing on about the gloomy state of smarts.
Which is why, while we relish our Top of the Pops, we also welcome with open arms Dossier: a biannual not-too-glossy, glossy that correlates fashion, photography, art, music, writing and culinary pursuits into one beautifully high-brow file—hence the name which means file in French.
A certain international editorial pedigree (founders Skye Parrott and Katherine Krause both worked at Self Service in Paris) explains the sophisticated style that has enticed contributors Zac Posen, Mario Batali and Marc Ronson, among others, to collaborate on the debut issue.
Check out the website, too. Boasting the mantra to “provide a forum for both established and emerging artists,” there are limited edition prints for sale along with an online gallery and blog.
