AGUAS IBIZA: Closing Parties

With this weekend being the last of the closing parties in Ibiza, it's time to hop a flight and get down on la isla for one last time this year. And as the nights are guaranteed to be pretty hectic, we suggest a stay in Agua's tranquil bliss. Here’s what Emma made of the place:

Last time I was in Ibiza was over a decade ago. Taryn, who likes “youth” music, thought it would be fun to spend a summer working on the island. And I decided to tag along.

I spent my first afternoon job-hunting in San Antonio, where the maurading crowds of glowstick-wielding teenagers, drunk and high before 5pm, made me shudder. I lasted a full 20 minutes before I burst into tears and took the next boat back to Barcelona, swearing never to return.

Over the last decade, Taryn has tried to convince me back with tales of great markets, unbelievable restaurants and rich men with yachts (she knows me, see). I held out strong, until this year when she decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday on Ibiza. I had no choice, really.

And thank God. Ibiza really is paradise. With its white sand beaches, turquoise water and quaint Spanish villages, the setting is spectacular; and I know now it is possible to avoid the hoi polloi, who treat the island as their own personal hedonistic hovel. You just have to be careful where you stay.

The new design hotel, Aguas de Ibiza, is the perfect solution. The recently opened 5* hotel and spa is the perfect retreat from reality. Located in a peaceful marina overlooking the ocean in the picturesque village of Santa Eulalia, the hotel is an oasis of privacy, centred around a sumptuous courtyard pool.

About the Hotel

Aguas embodies pure luxury. Run by the Torres family, who have extensive experience in the hospitality business, the stunning interior was designed by local architect Juan de los Rios, along with Barcelona’s Triade studios, while the spa was designed by Felix Prado, a recognised expert in wellness.

And the Area

Santa Eulalia is the third largest resort on the island of Ibiza and located only 21 km from the airport. Perfect for those seeking a quieter holiday, the charming seaside promenade is lined with palm trees while the white sand beaches are the perfect place to unwind. A slower, more relaxed pace than nearby Ibiza Town or San Antonia, it’s the perfect place for those seeking rest and relaxation.

Highlights

The service is impeccable with an atmosphere of utter calm and tranquility. Feeling flush? Book into the hotel-within-hotel, Cloud 9 on the fourth floor, with its 19 luxurious suites, presidential loft, and spectacular sunsets from the private jacuzzi.

Don't Miss

The breakfast buffet. Served late into the afternoon, this is the perfect way to refuel after a night out on the town.
We Loved: The room designs, catering for relaxation but with the latest technology, including Bang & Olufsen TV monitors and state of the art programmed lighting to create the perfect mood.

Coming Soon

Air Ibiza, the rooftop terrace bar, was still being constructed when we visited, but with the stunning ocean view and warm summer nights, it’s sure to be the ideal place to start or end an evening.

Top Tip

Make sure to get an ocean view room. The ones at the back look out on a parking lot.
