Thursday October 16: I Like This - Art
The chilly nip of Frieze is once more in the air, its many icy fingers of Autumnal artistic inspiration out in full force. But with 150-odd galleries on show, it can be a trifle overwhelming knowing where to start.
Which is why we’re so overjoyed to have the iconic Paul Smith (His Royal Smithy, to us humble minions) joining us at the Urban Junkies camp to lend his critical gaze as a guiding light.
Book: "The Marriage of Reason & Squalor"
I received an invite from White Cube and FUEL to celebrate the publication of "The Marriage of Reason & Squalor " by Jake Chapman. Unfortunately I'm in Japan at the time so can't go along but the book looks great, definitely something to check out.

Hew Locke – The Kingdom of the Blind.
I like these figurative sculptures as they are fantastic pieces made from kitsch items, bright everyday things you’d find in a market or shop from fake leather handbags, plastic animals, flowers to doll parts. The colours and size of these sculptures really stand out, alongside the fact that within each sculpture there is so much to see.

Henry Moore
It is also worth visiting Hauser & Wirth from the 15th October, where you will see rare and unseen work from Henry Moore. The gallery has also been transformed by architects Zaha Hadid and Patrick Schumacher especially for this exhibition.

Paris: Sol LeWitt – Galerie Lelong
I’m looking forward to seeing the Sol LeWitt exhibition at Galerie Lelong in Paris. I think his work has had a real influence on artists today. I like the way he uses colour and how his art was based on variations of basic geometric shapes – spheres and triangles.

Tokyo: Richard Woods
I have worked with Richard on a couple of projects over the years commissioning him to create work for my shops in Milan, Japan and New York. So I was really pleased that he agreed to have an exhibition, “The Wood Show” in my SPACE shop in Japan. The exhibition will see the entire gallery floor covered with the printed wood block work called ‘logo’ he is known for. It will also include five graphic “offcut’ pictures; simple and striking works that use floorboard offcuts inlayed into raw plywood, plus an unseen light, which will be on display for the first time. In addition, Richard has created ten limited edition and exclusive Logo prints only available to buy at Paul Smith.
