Love, Actually.

With LFW on the horizon, fashion tomes have gone into patriotic overdrive. AnOther Magazine is unveiling a salute to British design talent with Tilda Swinton and a special issue in Selfridges, while i-D’s March issue boasts 12 individual covers and is packed with home grown models styled by Edward Enninful. This weeks Time Out is guest edited by Gareth Pugh, and we’re only just getting over the fact that Luella isn’t actually launching an eponymous biannual. So is there space for a competitor?
A savvy ‘LOVE In’ at Dover Street Market, selling limited edition designer goodies (think Stella pants, Giles sheets and leather Loewe cushions) and Prada store revamp have set the scene. With ad pages full to the brim, and an overflowing Beth Ditto resplendent on the first issue’s cover, über stylist Katie Grand’s LOVE magazine is set to hit news stands tomorrow.
Promising an antithesis to the airbrushed gloss of her former home at Pop, expect profiles of Iggy Pop and Pam Hogg, non-airbrushed photo shoots with Kate Moss, and a dearth of sample size models. The biannual venture is the latest publication to fly the Condé Nast banner, and with Save Anna t-shirts on the up, it looks like it’s high time for a new (British) hero.
