There’s nothing quite like being in the thick of a club: the pulse of the crowd, the tingle of the meat-market, the throbbing bass, the overpriced drinks, the toilet queues, the obnoxious doormen…
With countless online sources to boost your own formidable music collection (the official iTunes store for the lawful, the currently-in-court Pirate Bay for the less legal), it should be possible to recreate the effect yourself. But sadly it’s never quite the same.
Sites like 8tracks and LastFM have their place, as long as you’re craving something thoroughly random. And there’s always web-radio – but if I have to hear one more American get-rich-quick ad, I swear I’m going to have a seizure.
