Art Attack

Image

What is it about springtime and everything looking so damned good? A single ounce of sunshine (daylight of course being quantifiable by weight) and suddenly I’m revamping my wardrobe to rid it off those winter necessities, and the streets are flecked with the first attractive people to return from their hibernation.

Tapping into the wardrobe reshuffle a little more literally, the V&A have finally relocated their outstanding theatrical costume collection (think Mick Jagger’s spangled jumpsuit) to South Ken. While, also scratching this eager aesthetic itch, Miu Miu have been touting a cute exhibition space in their White City store.

But the meaty icing on the art cake must be Haunch of Venison, who have just launched the inaugural exhibition for their spanking new venue at the larger and, in a sense, more prestigious Royal Academy space on Burlington Gardens. With Haunch formerly and rather fortuitously being located on Haunch of Venison Yard (handy that), I’m wondering if they’ll bother to change their name. Haunch of Bullington anybody? Royal Meatcademy?

Shame a new sense of humour doesn’t come with the wardrobe…

Mythologies at Haunch of Venison runs until April 26
