Secret Shame

Maybe we're all bored with the current retail climate. Or maybe we just like shaking things up. Either way, whilst they're not new, and some have definitely been far from clever, we can't help but get a little excited at the thought of another illicit pop up. And if it's somewhere where the beast of luxury shame can't rear its ugly head, so much the better

Which is why we're super excited about The Convenience Store's 'Room Service' residency, starting tomorrow at the stylish St Martins Lane Hotel. One of West London's most innovative designer boutiques, The Convenience Store stocks hard to find names and avant-garde young designers with an edge.

Concentrating on hand picked, niche and somewhat unconventional products unavailable elsewhere, the space will stock an array of highly coveted items such as Gareth Pugh's ventilated armour pieces, a Rick Owens backless jumpsuit, Ann-Sofie Back's goat suede-fringed dress, and Bruno Pieters' Cubist tailoring, presented as main courses, side dishes and desserts.

Now that's a bite out of fashion we definitely want a piece of.

Next on our Radar: Barbie's in-store store at Dover Street Market. Grab the Grande Dame's designer incarnations by Rosksanda Ilinic and Danielle Scutt this April. And if you have the moolah, head over to The Palm's Barbie Suite (complete with pieces from her Dream House) opening in May.

Room Service served March 19-April 9, Sun-Thurs: 12-8pm, Fri & Sat: 12-9pm.
Front Room at St Martins Lane Hotel, 45 St Martins Lane, WC2N 4HX.
