Good Vibrations

Here’s the thing about vibrations. If they’re happening, I want to feel good. Bad ones accompany unwelcome airplane noises, or precede natural disasters. Good vibrations, well… you know. Beach Boys and the like. Obviously.

So I was excited about the Power Plates classes at Fitness for Everybody. Let’s face it, they look like segways with added pleasure pulses thrown in. Not instruments of torture.

As it turns out, the only nice thing about squatting, lunging, and planking on a giant vibrator that makes you sound like a Darlek, is lovely Jane. A fitness instructor with some serious know-how and a nice line in celebrity clients, she’ll become your diet/lifestyle guru and keep you smiling.

The vibrations will work your muscles harder and twitch them into action – a twenty minute session is equivalent to about an hour’s gym work. And you will feel it. If you’re going hardcore, try the Cardio Vibes class, which combines heart pumping calorie burning with toning exercises. Otherwise stick to weekly sessions.

Not forgetting the added bonus of cellulite and calf massages. Now when did your last PT (legally) help you with that? Excitations!

Urban Junkies subscribers can claim a free twenty minute class to get them started. It is recommended that you take a classic Power Plate session before trying Cardio Vibes. Simply quote UJ when booking.
