Visit Stockholm – Top 5

With the Swedish krone so weak against the pound at the moment, now is the perfect time for a cheeky weekend in Stockholm. And while you’re there, here’s our rundown of the top 5 luxurious must-sees the city has to offer while you’re there.

Two years ago this old fashion department store started a huge refurbishment. The result? Probably one of the coolest department stores in the world, and something definitely not to be missed during a trip to Stockholm. Among the highlights is the “+46” shop on the third floor: 350sqm filled with the latest in Swedish fashion.

Berns


Berns

For the last few year, Berns (Salonger) has been host to Fashion Week by Berns which is the show part of Stockholm’s own fashion week. The venue, which includes restaurants, bars, a concert hall and hotel, was built in 1863 and offers a phenomenal blend of timeless style and contemporary design.

Grill


Grill

This restaurant is probably one of the coolest in Stockholm. Decorated like an enormous living room and with wonderful staff, it is the place for a cozy yet fun night out. In 2008 the whole place burnt down only to rise phoenix-like soon after – and it’s now cooler than ever.

Nordiska Museet

The Nordic Museum is the V&A of Stockholm, and has the largest collection of clothes in Scandinavia. Whilst renovating the permanent fashion department, the museum is hosting a several smaller fashion exhibitions. Ongoing right now is “Fair Fashion? ” which focuses on the issues of fashion and sustainability.

Biblioteksgatan

This is a renowned address for anything and everything luxury in Stockholm. At one end you have Berns and at the other, the luxurious Sturegallerian. Along the street and on the neighboring ones you’ll find some of the best shopping in the world – no matter if you are looking for international luxury or contemporary Swedish fashion.
