Grey Goose Character & Cocktails Bar

Grey Goose Character & Cocktails Bar

Remember Pimp My Ride? MTV’s blinged out reality show which saw regular old cars turned into all singing-all dancing vehicles? Well now imagine the same concept – but with bars. And minus the hideous presentation skills of Tim Westwood. Throw in some hot designers, a charitable cause, and a top-notch Hospital Club location, and you’ve got the Grey Goose Character & Cocktails Bar .

Grey Goose vodka and The Elton John AIDS foundation have tasked a group of design luminaries to each design a bar to their own unique style, plus a signature cocktail with a top mixologist to match their theme using super smooth Grey Goose vodka.

Last year’s event saw the likes of Giles Deacon creating a ‘pimped out' pub using Swarovski crystals, David Furnish’s Tuk Tuk bar serving mango-flavoured ‘Indian Sunsets’, and Theo Fennel’s Lover’s Bar dispensing the ‘Love Potion Number 8’ cocktail conceived by Bungalow 8’s Amy Sacco.

So, if you fancy checking out some of these bar designs (including bars by Burberry’s Christopher Bailey, Parisian whiz kid Roland Mouret and shoe God Patrick Cox), and sampling some magical Grey Goose vodka cocktails; all whilst listening to a Just Jack designed playlist and a live set from one of London’s top DJs; This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

  • Top Three Bars for … Experimenting

    {mosimage}

    There are certain moments in life when nothing quenches quite like a cold beer. There are those times when it’s a Martini or even a gin and tonic. But then there are those occasions in life when one really ought to live a little; to drink outside the box, as it were. Foams and infusions, essences and caviars, the drinks scene in London is in a very special place right now. Here our top three cocktail bars of the moment getting experimental on our tastebuds.

  • Vuvuzelas At The Ready

    {mosimage}

    Despite our World Cup defeat, we’re not lacking in spirit – but what to do with our now defunct vuvuzelas? We’re taking inspiration from warrior King Shaka Zulu this summer, with the hotly tipped launch of a massive new South African inspired venue – complete with sacrificial ceremonies and cudu on the grill. Toot toot! ?

  • Appleton Bartender's Challenge

    {mosimage}

    A big thank you to all the lovely UJers that turned out in force to join us at Floridita on Monday night for the Appleton Estate Bartender’s Challenge. Drinks were imbibed from three top-notch finalists’ bars, music came courtesy of the fantastic Jazz Trio, someone won a trip to Jamaica (not us, grrr) and who didn’t love the meaty pasties and banana-date puddings?

  • The Sky’s The Limit

    Summer sunshine calls for terraced entertainment, and sure, there’ve been a few contenders. But like a school-kid crush, we’re stuck on Shoreditch House, where our only bugbear has been taken care of by the crowd-controlling extension. So is there any alternative to the roof du jour?

  • Hendrick's Horseless Carriage of Curiosities

    All aboard this antique train carriage, resplendent with an array of obscure curiosities to confound and bemuse in equal measures.
