Jubilee Junkies
Jubilee here, Jubilee there, Jubilee everywhere. From Union Jack underwear and limited edition Marmite (Ma’amite, nice), to hundreds of afternoon tea parties and Fortnum Mason’s inclusion of Heinz Baked Beans on their menu, it seems like everybody’s cashing in on Queenie’s diamond anniversary. Here are UJ’s pickings for the big weekend. One more thing – corgi paraphernalia is a must.
PRODUCT PICK:
CORGI STATUE
Because everybody needs a corgi this weekend, even if it’s not real. Alternatives are solar-run corgis and badges.
Posing Corgi statue
available from Selfridges
£1,953
KEEPSAKE:
LONDON LOOK PRINT
Part-stamp, part-art, this wall print by Doghouse x Manjit Sangha is for keeps.
London Look Giclée Print available from CultureLabel

GET BOOZY:
MOËT & CHANDON EXCLUSIVE CUVEE
And the chosen street party tipple shall be… Moët & Chandon’s exclusive label Cuvee. They did the same for the Gold and Silver celebrations, but this is the first time they’re available to buy. Cheers to that.
Moët & Chandon Exclusive Label Cuvee available from Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Waitrose
£31.99
FUN FOR ALL:
THE BIG ROOFTOP TEA AND GOLF PARTY
An emerald green lake (of punch), inhalable gin and tonic, glow in the dark jelly – you’d think gastro-masters/jellymongers Bompas and Parr would run out of ideas eventually. Well they haven’t. As part of Selfridges’ Big British Bang celebrations, the pair have set up a 9-hole mini-golf course on the Selfridges rooftop – and it’s made out of cake. Daylesford Café will be up there too, serving tea with a twist and nibbles, so try to resist nibbling your surroundings.
The Big Rooftop Tea and Golf Party
400 Oxford Street, W1A 1AB
May 31 – September 2, 12pm-7pm daily, £6
BURGER:
QUEEN’S JUBILEE BURGER BASH WITH PATTY & BUN
No celebration is complete without a celebratory burger creation. Byron will be serving the Chilli Queen – a green chilli and chipotle mayo cheeseburger – over this weekend only, while Patty and Bun will be serving up their delicious buns on the Queen of Hoxton’s rooftop. Stick around for a late night screening on Sunday.
Queen’s Jubilee Burger Bash
Queen of Hoxton, 1-5 Curtain Road, EC2A 3JX
June 2 – June 4, 12pm-12am
FLY THE FLAG:
CONRAN FLAG
Union Jack décor has been old news for a while now, but this one we want: a cashmere and silk blend bit of patriotism that doubles up as a scarf.
Union Jack Scarf
available from The Conran Shop
£175
PARTY:
BOUJIS RIGHT ROYAL KNEES-UP
Boujis have gone all out for the Jubilee. Not only are they covering the exterior of the building with a Union Jack vinyl, they are also opening their doors to non-members. It’s all very Cool Britannia – expect bunting, props, fancy dress (done well), special cocktails and old school projections of Her Royal Highness on the wall.
Right Royal Knees-up at Boujis, 43 Thurloe Street, SW7 2LQ

GOD SAVE THE CLAM
God Save the… Clam. A punk rock take on Clam Bake on a rooftop in London Fields, this is a Jubilee celebration with a rebellious twist. Barbecue legends Pitt Cut and seafood faring Rock Lobsta will join forces to cook up a feast (and there’s also a sundae bar). Drinks come in the form of Meantime beer and Cuervo Tradicional cocktails (and a little extra from us). There are still tickets left for the UJ session on Sunday at 2.40pm. See you there!
God Save the Clam, Émigré Studios rooftop, 274 Richmond Road, E8 3QW
Sunday June 3, 2.40pm. £40 for 3 courses, 2 cocktails and special gift.
To book the Urban Junkies event use the code Clam Junky.
PARTY GEAR:
FOR HIM AND HER
We’re not advocating full on fancy dress, but a few Royal touches seem appropriate this weekend. For her: a Tatty Devine tiara (our faves are the ruby ring and the stars. For him: Queen’s face cufflinks by Cockney Jewels x Vanessa Fristedt (there are also corgi, Will and Kate and Queen Mother variations).
Tatty Devine Tiaras
available from Selfridges, from £51
Cockney Jewels Queen’s Head Cufflinks
available from CultureLabel, £15
