Toys R Us
There’s something silly in the air. And by ‘silly’ we mean an immature, glittery, plastic fantastic takeover by all things kiddie. Think the 90s Mickey Mouse Club meets Mattel with a pinch of cool – we’ve seen everything from Space Invaders paraphernalia and Hello Kitty rucksacks to Henry Holland glow-in-the-dark undies. And it doesn’t stop there. Toymania is creeping its way up to the upper echelons of society: Minnie Mouse in Lanvin, Goofy in Balmain... Embrace your inner child and read on.

CARTOON : Jeremy Scott x Bart Simpson
Bart Simpson Wool Knit Scarf by Jeremy Scott, available from Colette, €265
J Scott loves a good pop culture reference (Mickey Mouse, the Flinstones, and that air hostess outfit for Britney). Now he’s gone to The Simpsons for inspiration (the print is also available in a beanie, jumper, dress and skirt).
LFW : Minnie Mouse Must Haves

Minnie’s getting spoiled. Not only is she leading the show at Barney’s Xmas show in New York (see below), all eyes are on her at LFW this month. Designers including Richard Nicoll, Katie Hillier, Giles Deacon, Michael Van Der Ham, Lulu Guinness and Meadham Kirchhoff will unveil their Minnie-inspired, one-off pieces. After they’re exhibited at Somerset House they’ll be auctioned on eBay, with money going to the Fashion Arts Foundation.

DISCO : All I’ve Ever Wanted by Anya Hindmarch
All I’ve Ever Wanted by Anya Hindmarch, available from Net-A-Porter, from £450
Anya’s current collection for AW is inspired by the childlike allure of peering through a toy shop at Christmas. Pick up disco shoes and glittery bags – installed with LED lights, hidden music boxes and snow globes – in toy-like packaging.
DISNEY : Disney’s Electric Holiday
Disney Electric Parade light show, November 14 Barney’s, 660 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10065
Barney’s have gone all-out kiddie in their plans for their Christmas campaign. Electric Holiday – which takes its inspiration from the classic Disney World electric parades – will feature iconic characters in high fashion: think Minnie in Lanvin (though we see her more as a Moschino girl), Daisy Duck in Dolce and Gabbana, Goofy in Balmain and Snow White in Nina Ricci. And this side of the pond will see Harrod’s windows taken over by Disney princesses.
DISCO : All I’ve Ever Wanted by Anya Hindmarch

Now you can carry one of Moschino’s mascots around – on the back of your phone.
STICKERS : Kurt Cobain Stickerbook

Not a likely combination but it works. They also have a Bill Murray colouring book.
