Beauty Spy - Getting under the skin of the health & beauty industry
Here at UJ, we believe in the detox pre-Christmas rather than January (prevention you see). If you're on our page, the below should offer some feel good inspiration. We've also included a last minute heads up to WineChap's Malbec Night taking place tomorrow night to balance it out; after all it's no fun being good all the time!

SPA HOME
CHEWTON GLEN
Escape the city noise for Hampshire's Chewton Glen. If the old-school charm of the main house is a bit too country file for your liking, shack up in one of the new design-led treehouses for ultimate seclusion. They come complete with hot tubs, panoramic valley views, a "pod" bedroom, glass walkway and – genius – a secret hatch for breakfast hamper deliveries. You won't even have to visit the spa – there are in-treehouse treatments available. Duvet day anyone?

HOLISTIC HEALTH
Holistic wellbeing is the latest health trend to take root. The new breed of trainer – personal fitness and therapy – dedicates equal time to sorting out your body and your head. London's Body Studio offers different mind/body programs to achieve "The Anatomy of Happy". Alternatively, if you want complete mind time out then book into Sezz Saint Tropez. In April, this ultra modernist five-star hotel will host Lacure Officine, a course based on the Bio-Nutrimab science, which combines physical, mental and spiritual health to naturally detox the body, repair the skin and improve metabolism. Just stay away from the Dom Pérignon bar.
Lacure Officine at Hotel Sezz Saint Tropez, 151 Route Des Salins 83990, Saint Tropez, France Courses from April 26 – May 12 and October 7 – 20, from £2,392 per person

JUICE
RADIANCE CLEANSE
If DIYing it with a blender isn't for you then a juice diet might be. Reset your digestive balance with Radiance Juice. The different cleanses (signature, winter, greens, beauty boost or bespoke) consist of a pre-cleanse/cleanse/post-cleanse plan with organic, cold pressed – though some include hot drinks – raw juices delivered straight to your front door. What this cleanse lacks in diversity (juices on the one we did were the same every day) it makes up for with the ability to create a bespoke plan (we went heavy on supplements for a liver focus).
Three day cleanses from £215

MASSAGE
RETURN TO GLORY
The thing about day spa trips is, by the time you've arrived, you're likely to be in a bad mood from your journey. Unwind during the massage, but then face the homeward travel again. Not so stress free. With Return to Glory, a therapist arrives, sets up shop (tables, music) and gives you a treatment in your own home. You can even add extra time as you go along.
Massages from £54

BEAUTY AND THE BRUNCH
Possibly one of our favourite London hotels for its swanky but fresh appeal, One Aldwych embodies effortless luxury to expert effect. It is now also the unofficial LFW haunt – situated within crawling distance of Somerset House. UJ visited to indulge in Beauty & the Brunch – a genius concept combining two things we love. From the minute we arrived at the basement spa and spied the off-the-scale indoor pool, the weight of the city slipped from our shoulders.
