Martina has lived all over the world, most recently in Indonesia where she wrote for an expat magazine and made completely unnecessary trips to Bali as often as possible, maintaining that investigating surfer techniques counted as work. Boarding school in Scotland came as something of a shock, but helped to hone impeccable skills in sneaking vodka into wooded areas, life skills which turned out to be utterly unneccessary at University in Durham, where she largely learnt that mobile phones rarely survive full water submersion. Luckily she discovered that someone needs to write about shopping, hemlines and shoes, and has as such been in London for the past few years getting into large amounts of debt.
Should she not fix this, she might literally become the old woman who lived in a shoe, because she has many of those, though inexplicably likes to go barefoot in the office whenever possible. If she could live anywhere she'd move back to Southeast Asia, but being of a tall persuasion she has decided to stick it out in the UK in hopes of meeting an equally tall gentleman, though she does specify nobody so tall that their resulting offspring would have to shop for beds in Amsterdam and be mercilessly bullied at school.
