Beauty Spot

Beauty Barometer

UJ’s fabulous sleuths over at Cult Beauty are back this month to raise temperatures with their barometer of what’s hot and what’s not.

Going Up

Patriotic girl power. As embodied by Wonder Woman. Thanks to Diane Von Furstenburg’s new Super heroine-inspired collection, we are loving bright red lips, sapphire blue eyes and hair (well, almost). Channel your inner kick-ass princess with a little Lipstick Queen in Red Sinner and Bourjois Eyeshadow in Baby Blue.

Bella Bellissima Candles
. Natural-burning, with smells so sweet you’d be forgiven for celebrating Christmas early. Sweet Fig & Crushed Raspberry Leaf ? Espresso, Toasted Pecan & Morello? Mmm.

The new face at Mathew Alexander’s Bespoke Hair & Beauty salon in W1.  Jennifer is a dab hand with a pair of tongs and has already coiffed the likes of Eva Herzigova and Happy-Go-Lucky Sally Hawkins.

Going Down

Preventative Botox. Expensive, addictive, won’t actually stop sagging but will cause muscle decay. You’ll end up looking as rubbery as Danni Minogue… forever.

Miss Naked Beauty. Gok, we love you girlfriend, but leave our cosmetics alone. We paint not just to conceal, but to enhance and express our wondrous individuality.

Influence by The Olsen Twins. Who wants to learn the inspiration behind their hollowed-out cheeks and bug eyes? Sisters of Gollum, have a break, split a Kitkat, and keep your trashy ‘style’ ideas to yourselves.
