After a sold-out, critically acclaimed run of The Red Shoes, New Adventures returns to Sadler’s Wells with Matthew Bourne’s Cinderella. From the mastermind behind the all-male ensemble of Swan Lake, you know you’re in good storytelling hands with Bourne – and he’s at his best interpreting the darkly woven folklores we’re all familiar with. Set in London during the Second World War, Bourne’s re-imagining of one of the world’s best-known fairytales sees Cinderella meet a dashing young RAF pilot by chance, before the pair are thrown apart by the horrors of the Blitz. Performed in surround sound, with Olivier Award-winning costumes and sets by Lez Brotherston and lighting by Olivier Award-winning Neil Austen, this is one to get dressed up for and be whisked away by.
