The Culturist: March
If you haven't gotten around to visiting last month's cultural events buffet then hurry up, we're throwing a whole new selection your way for March. That's more retrospectives, more exhibitions and more fashion to add to your list – not to mention some coffee table love, food and holiday ideas. Jump to it.
ART: EXHIBITION: DAVID BOWIE IS
March 23 – August 11, £15.50
V&A, Cromwell Road, SW7 2RL
Bowie's omnipresence continues – and we're not just referring to his latest music video with Tilda Swinton. This month sees his highly anticipated, international retrospective at the V&A come to life. Expect everything from costumes (Ziggy Stardust, yes!), handwritten lyrics and instruments to photography, music videos, set designs and album sleeves (Aladdin Sane). We'll be channelling some Serious Moonlight.
EAT : THE WORLD AT LIMEWHARF
March 6 – 22, dinner £55, canapés £15, Vyner Street, E2 9DJ
Multidisciplinary and experimental centre LimeWharf is now open for business. Kicking off the three-week food season is the fêted Anna Hansen of The Modern Pantry. The tasting menu – as well as the impressively colossal, cutout-like dinner table which mirrors the geographic contours of the world – will trigger conversations about the future of food. If five courses of futuristic dinner discussion sounds too much to handle, then book in for some canapés instead.
FASHION: CHLOÉ ÉDITION ANNIVERSAIRE AT SELFRIDGES
March 1 – 30, 400 Oxford Street, W1A 1AB
Selfridges is celebrating 60 years of Chloé. Vintage pieces from the archives will be on show in the Concept Store (Karl Lagerfeld's Shower Dress will be displayed in a tiled, diamante shower unit, for example) alongside videos of catwalks from memorable seasons and specially curated window displays. On top of that, the fashion house has reissued 16 key pieces from its history, including Lagerfeld's 1983 Violin Dress, Stella McCartney's Pineapple Tee from '01 and Phoebe Philo's wedges from '06. If old school isn't your thing you could always stay current with the Banshee (aka the Susanna) boot.

PHOTOGRAPHY: LIFEWORK: NORMAN PARKINSON'S CENTURY OF STYLE
March 1 – May 12, Free,
National Theatre, Upper Ground, South Bank, SE1 9PX
If Norman Parkinson were still alive, 2013 would be his 100th birthday year. To mark the occasion, the National Theatre is showcasing a retrospective of his work. The father of modern fashion photography – and part of the old school fashion set avec Coddington, Bailey et al – set the tone for today's fashion photography, both in print and online. Exotic locations, anachronistic props and juxtapositions: they were all his signatures.
