Dine on marmite crumpets, HLTs (a haloumi take on the BLT), and lobster risotto in the Martin Brudnizki designed interior – marble floors, vintage leather banquettes, antique brass top bar… you know the look. And sticking to the ethos of a café, they've promised to leave half their tables free for walk ins. 50% reservations / 50% walk ins… restaurants, take note.

SEE: ALEXANDER CALDER: PERFORMING SCULPTURE AT THE TATE

November 11 - April 3 £18 Bankside, SE1 9TG

A hanging mobile may not seem revolutionary, but if made by Alexander Calder, its inventor, it's definitely worth a look. A pioneer in kinetic sculpture, Calder was the first artist to bring movement to sculptures. And to honour his modernist works, the Tate is hosting a retrospective exploring how he shaped movement in art, cementing his nickname, the master of motion.

TREND: GUEST SERIES

Various venues

London's restaurant scene has gone the way of festivals: pre-pay tickets, one-off events and big bill line-ups. Lyle's has begun doing a monthly Guest Series – and tonight, sommelier Johan Agrell and chef Olle Cellton of Babette in Sweden will be the kitchen. This weekend, Druid Street Market kicks off a series of pop-up spots every Saturday for five weeks. Thanks to Chefs of Tomorrow, expect to sample dishes by chefs from the kitchens of Fera, Petersham Nurseries, 64 Degrees, Som Saa, and Silo, to name a few. Or, if you prefer a good ol' battle, later this month, spread over two dates, Berber & Q will go head to head with Chick 'n' Sours. Book your tickets here.
