UJ Loves Luck
We could all use a little more luck in our lives; rabbits’ feet, four leaf clovers and ladybirds might do over this side of the world, but out East they’re taking things more seriously. The Chinese culture of visual vocabulary uses everything from bats, goldfish, coins, knots and lotus flowers connected to numerical symbology to encourage good fortune into their lives.
So in keeping with this tradition, lifestyle brand Shanghai Tang have launched their 2008 Luck Homewares collection, full of double happiness symbols and of course, the number 8 for prosperity and wealth. Doesn’t hurt to usher in some luck over a cup of tea does it? Who says East can’t meet West.
