It feels like London’s Indian cuisine offering is stronger than ever, but Manish Mehrotra’s Indian Accent still manages to stand out a mile.

Décor and Vibe
Walk in here, and there’s no doubt you’re in Mayfair. Staff waiting to take your coats as soon as you step into the entrance lobby, soft piano music, deep green leather banquettes, and dark, candlelit ambiance.

Food
Unlike other high-end Indian restaurants, which offer refined versions of the classics, Indian Accent has gone for the innovative route and we loved it. Even if you know a lot about food, there’s a high chance you’ll need some of the dishes on the menu explained to you (we did). As for highlights, the beet and peanut vadai is an unexpected sensation, the langoustines are well worth paying a supplement for, and the soy keema is going to reach legendary status pretty soon.

Drink
The cocktail menu is equally as innovative as the food, with Indian flavours running throughout (cardamom, chilli) although the bartenders can also make you a classic if you’d like.

Highlight
The kulchas are small but perfectly formed pieces of carb perfection.

Top Tip
We’d recommend the four-course (don’t skip dessert) prix fixe menu over the tasting menu, unless you’re very hungry – portions are quite generous for this type of dining.
